Matt and Mercedes Schlapp along with Charlie Gerow welcome Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to the stage as DeSantis welcomed CPAC to Florida in 2022.
Because Florida fought Faucism by banning mask mandates, vaccine mandates, and resisted pressure to lockdown, the state reached a height of domestic tourism in 2021 and even attracted some hypocritical politicians from lockdown states. Regardless of the pressure DeSantis faced to fall in line with these policies, he chose to instead pursue freedom and the best interests of the people in his state.
He takes inspiration for his leadership theory from President Eisenhower’s Farewell Address. “[Eisenhower] said [that] the job of the statesman is not to sub-contract out your policy to help bureaucrats, or other type of bureaucrats. The job of the statesman is to lead, to take all the interests in society and make sure you’re doing what’s in the public good,” DeSantis explains.
DeSantis boasts of Florida’s accomplishments in the cause of freedom. They are staking a stand against Biden’s open border policy, defund the police initiatives, and inflation. DeSantis, personally as governor, replaced three liberal judges on the Florida Supreme Court with conservative judges, banned sanctuary cities, and has vowed to reroute illegal aliens in Florida to Delaware, Washington, D.C., and Hollywood. Florida has led the way in advocating school choice and parental rights, and protecting women’s sports.
He declares on the issue of crime, “We are a law and order state in the state of Florida. We reject weak on crime policies. We reject Soros-funded prosecutors.”
Because of all of these positive policies, Florida is the recipient of millions of refugees from tyrannical blue states. Florida has made itself known as a beacon of freedom throughout the United States and even around the world.
