America UnCanceled: @heatherhunterdc Joins to Discuss the Rise of Homeschooling
Homeschooling is on the rise, and the Left thinks it’s ruining America’s children. Producer for WMAL O’Connor and Company, host of a homeschool podcast, and homeschooling mom of two Heather Hunter breaks down the causes behind the rising popularity of homeschooling and its benefits over conventional schooling.
The Washington Post recently ran a headline reporting that homeschooling is being used as a tool for child abuse. The article is part of a special series from the publication bent on slandering homeschooling as a whole, but Hunter explains that most homeschooling parents embark on the journey out of concern and love for their children.
“Most parents are really genuine about wanting to spend more time with their kids or wanting to have a better education for their children. There’s real reasons why people homeschool, also because of the learning laws from the pandemic, but there’s been learning laws for decades. Schools have been failing our kids for a long time, and parents kind of woke up during the pandemic really about the biggest failure of the education of their kids because they had to kind of take on a lot of schooling responsibilities as well,” Hunter says.
Since the pandemic, millions of parents across America have been discovering the beauty of homeschooling that allows for personalized and more effective learning and teaches children life skills by taking them out of the controlled environment of the classroom and exposes them to diverse experiences while imparting that learning is a lifelong and continuous process that happens in more places than just a classroom.
