America UnCanceled: @realmitchlittle joins to discuss the acquittal of Texas AG Ken Paxton
Mitch Little, partner at the law firm of Scheef and Stone Law, LLP, breaks down the impeachment process and eventual acquittal of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.
Little was part of the successful defense team for Paxton that won the Attorney General his acquittal after a long and controversial impeachment process in the Texas legislature. The impeachment sparked controversy over the weak evidence presented against Paxton and the secretive nature of the processes.
“What I hate about what happened to Ken Paxton is that so much of the process occurred in the shadows when there was supposed to be transparency. He should have had an opportunity to defend himself in the House of Representatives when the charges were leveled, but the whisper campaign, the criminal allegations, and the media attacks that were essentially used as political cover for Ken Paxton’s opponents even in the primary were disgusting, and we really had no legal opportunity to interject ourselves into the discussion until this trial,” Little said.
He reveals that the process was incredibly corrupt, full of backroom scheming, shirking of standards, and maligning by the media, but for the Little, the defense of Paxton was easy given the lack of evidence against him.
