Co-host of Line Drive Podcast Tim Murtaugh talks his new book “Swing Hard In Case You Hit It” that details his struggles with alcoholism and his journey to sobriety.

For decades, Murtaugh struggled with severe alcoholism while trying to maintain a successful career in politics. His addiction led him to jail and to accumulating a significant arrest record for DUI’s and public drunkenness charges. The final charge was also the final straw for Murtaugh who realized his career and family were on the line. From there, after several past failed attempts at rehabilitation, Murtaugh seriously embarked on the road to recovery and has maintained sobriety for the eight years since then.

He went on to continue to succeed in his career and joined President Donald Trump’s administration and re-election campaign. Now, he hopes his book will share the truth of his redemption story and will inspire those struggling in the same way others’ personal stories inspired him on his road to recovery.

“I think the takeaway from this is that it doesn’t matter how bad it gets, it’s possible to get out of it,” Murtaugh says.
