Back to the 1970’s — CPAC Texas
Former CEO of Papa John’s Pizza, John Schnatter, takes the stage at CPAC Texas to address the economic state of the United States. As the title of the speech indicates, Schnatter shows in his speech how the Democrats’ economic policies today that have placed the country in a recession are little different from the destructive policies of President Jimmy Carter in the 1970s. Schnatter mourns the wound Biden’s policies have inflicted on entrepreneurship. High inflation and high taxes have discouraged innovation and the building of small businesses. The spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship were so crucial to Schnatter’s own success story as the founder of Papa John’s Pizza.
He further believes that one of the most extraordinary attacks on American ingenuity is the infiltration of the education system. Gender identity teaching and critical race theory dampen the pursuit of the American Dream in future generations. Schnatter suggests a solution that begins at the individual level. “If we’re going to change the world, we have to change ourselves.” A reform of the person will lead to more significant change overall. It is the key, Schnatter says, to “keep that light on on that shining city on top of a hill.”
