President and co-partner of McLaughlin and Associates, Jim McLaughlin, and CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp present the results of the 2023 CPAC straw poll. The poll revealed that the majority of the 2,000 participants believe that Joe Biden will be the 2024 Democrat presidential nominee, disapprove of sending aid to Ukraine, and will not be receiving a COVID-19 vaccine. A debt limit increase showed to be unpopular among participants with over 70% demanding Republicans force Democrats to negotiate. As for the Republican side of the presidential race, a winning 14% of participants supported Kari Lake as Vice President and 10% supported Ron DeSantis for the same position. President Trump received an overwhelming 95% of the vote in approval of his job as president and won 62% of the poll as the Republican presidential nominee over Ron DeSantis who came in second at 20%.
