Domestic Terrorists Unite: Lesson from Virginia Parents with Ian Prior, Jessica Mendez, Amy Jahr, and Michele Mege - CPAC FL 2022
Ian Prior moderates a panel with Jessica Mendez, Amy Jahr, and Michele Mege at CPAC Florida 2022 where they tackle the corruption of American education and the demonization of parents. The panelists were on the frontline of this fight in Loudon County, Virginia. Loudon County trailblazed introducing radical, inappropriate material into public schools. They also sustained long-term lockdowns during the pandemic that kept children out of schools and prevented them from learning and interacting with their peers. Prior, Mendez, Jahr, and Mege were outrage on several points. They were astonished by the sexually explicit material forced on their children in school assignments, a sexual assault incident that was dismissed by the school board, and the prolonged lockdowns by the public school district. The group of parents banded together to speak out against the school board and gain parents a say over their children’s education. In response, the DOJ issued a memo declaring parents who speak out at school board meetings domestic terrorists. Nonetheless, this group of concerned parents in Loudon County lit a fire that spread throughout the country. What they did in Loudon County, Virginia inspired parents in other states to take up the banner for greater freedom and parental rights in education. Now, they are still fighting for transparency so that parents are able to view the curricula in their children’s schools.
