Alex Bruesewitz of XStrategies, Rogan O’Handley, political activist and influencer known as DC Draino, and Ryan Fournier speak on a panel discussion at CPAC Florida 2022 on the mainstream media. O’Handley and Fournier share their expertise as prominent figures in conservative media. Fournier was able to contribute to the successful Trump 2016 campaign through savvy use of social media. O’Handley, similarly, identified the need to utilize social media to reach a broader and younger audience. O’Handley went so far as to leave a legal career in Hollywood to become an online political influencer, posting memes for a conservative audience. Both have been forced to cope with left-wing censorship. O’Handley was banned on Twitter for allegedly spreading “election misinformation”. He is challenging the banning in court as a violation of the First Amendment. Fournier, too, was flagged on social media, and he endorses Truth Social as an alternative platform for free speech in social media.
