Doubt, Dysfunction, and the Price of Missed Opportunities - CPAC 2021
Sonnie Johnson, host of “Sonnie’s Corner”, Angela Stanton King of The America King Foundation, Shemeka Michelle of #WalkAway, Rich Valdes, host of “This America” speak on a panel moderated by Maj Toure, Founder of Black Guns Matter at CPAC 2021 about the place of African Americans and Latinos in the conservative movement. Conservatives leave a lot of room for improvement in their minority outreach. They still have yet to capture a base in black and Hispanic circles. The panelists agree that the conservative movement needs leaders and spokespersons who come from these groups to speak conservative values to them. These communities need to hear the movement’s ideas from someone they can relate who found success in conservative policies. The panelists emphatically urge their party to recognize the needs and circumstances of minorities and begin to speak to them and meet them where they are.
