Head of the Class: Why is the Left Committed to CRT When So Many Parents Disagree?

Activist Xi Van Fleet, Ian Prior of Fightforschools.com, and Hannah Smith from CISD School Board sit on a panel moderated by Heather Flick of the American Conservative Union at CPAC Texas 2021. The panel discusses Critical Race Theory and the Left’s transformation of public education into a propaganda program for indoctrinating new generations. Van Fleet likens CRT to the propaganda in Chinese schools that reduces three thousand years of Chinese history to a class struggle and demonizes those of the enemy class. CRT introduces a similar reductive understanding of American history, shaving it down to a racial struggle while construing white people as racist oppressors. Prior and Smith warn parents to examine their children’s curricula for CRT buzz phrases like ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion’, ‘culturally responsive learning’, and ‘social and emotional learning’. All three panelists encourage average Americans to take action by appealing to their school board for curriculum reform, running for school board positions, and learning and using their states’ open records laws to force school boards to expose their Marxist-infused lesson plans.
