Laura Ingraham speaks at CPAC 2018 on the nature of the modern Left and its relationship with conservatives in the United States. Going back to the 1980s and the mainstream media, the intelligentsia, and Hoolywood’s treatment of President Reagan, the Left has a storied history of smearing the character, attacking the policies, and denying the success of Republican presidents. History repeated itself with President Trump who has fielded character smears, attacks on his policies, and denials of his success. Ingraham predicts that conservatives down the line will view 2016 the same way conservatives now view the 1980s. They will see 2016 and Trump’s presidency as “the good old days” for the prominence of conservatism in the White House and the efficacy of conservative policies. She urges conservatives now to look at the bright side, fight the negative narrative from the Left, and highlight the prosperity of the country under conservative policies.
