Mark Krikorian - CPAC Hungary 2022
Mark Krikorian answers the question, “Is mass immigration an attack on Western Civilization?”, in his speech at CPAC Hungary 2022. Krikorian argues that in the cases of refugees fleeing the Syrian Civil War and the situation at the United States’ southern border, mass immigration is in fact detrimental to Western Civilization. These cases have burdened Western nations with huge influxes of people swelling the welfare state and have increased crime, placing citizens of Western nations in danger.
Krikorian ultimately admits, though, that mass immigration is not an attack on Western Civilization insofar as it is the result of the root problem of elitists’ allophobia and zenomania. A pandemic of self-doubt across Western nations has made leaders of these nations reject their nations and their respective histories while viewing outside nations favorably. Mass immigration can be non-threatening and even beneficial when immigrants effectively assimilate into the new country’s culture. In fact, only if immigrants assimilate, and only if the receiving country asserts their identity and demands assimilation will immigration be non-threatening. Allophobia is preventing this from occurring. Allophobia has created an identity crisis for Americans and Europeans who believe their own countries to be innately evil and unworthy of assimilating into.
