The 70th Secretary of State Mike Pompeo delivers remarks at CPAC 2023 on national security and foreign policy. He remarks on the startling and concerning change that has swept the country under the Biden presidency. The United States is suddenly compromised and vulnerable to attacks from foreign foes and Chinese spy balloons. Our vulnerability stems from additional threats from within. The Left with its Marxist agenda is eroding individual liberty. It is simultaneously expanding the government and Americans’ reliance on government, and as it does this, it discourages Americans from the liberation of self-sufficiency and self-success. Thus, the real fight for the country is not against our external enemies, though they do pose a formidable threat, but against the enemies hidden inside the country and deteriorating it internally. Pompeo fought these enemies as Secretary of State. He represented the United States boldly on the international stage and rid the country of internal threats including a Chinese spy network. Now, he asks conservatives to fight like he did against the internal enemies on the Left. He calls for conservatives to band together to protect the founding principles of the country.
