Host of the Sara Carter Show, Sara Carter, moderates a two-part panel at CPAC 2023 on border security and the immigration crisis. On this first panel, Carter is joined by Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes and founder of Commission vs. Human Trafficking Rosi Orozco to discuss the horrors of human trafficking and how the open southern border is allowing the cartels to make human trafficking into a multi-billion dollar business. Orozco is an advocate for freeing individuals, especially children, enslaved by the cartels, and speaks to the abuse and degradation victims face to emphasize the atrocity that is human trafficking. Rosas, as Attorney General of Utah, is working to protect Americans from this atrocity and rescue victims. Additionally, he is determined to spread awareness of it by speaking out about it, against advice he’s received from consultants. By publicly speaking about it, he and the other panelists are doing important work just to make average Americans aware of the humanitarian crisis happening right under their nose, in their own cities, and in their own country and to take a stand against it. In fact, the United States is one of the largest customers to human trafficking. Carter states the scary fact that "we are the biggest, actually, purchasers of children in the world, sadly, and that’s a fact.” Significant progress to shutting down human trafficking begins with securing the border, and the panelists on Americans to rise to the challenge to support officials who will do just that.
