The opening ceremonies of CPAC Hungary 2023 featured remarks by Executive Director of the Center for Fundamental Rights Miklós Szánthó and CPAC Chairman Matt Schlapp following a multi-denominational prayer and the singing of the Hungarian and American national anthems. Szánthó and Schlapp’s remarks both conveyed a sense of unity and strength for conservatives against the advances of elitist and globalist Leftists. Szánthó welcomed the many dignitaries who came from over twenty-five countries to CPAC Hungary and of course CPAC itself for its fruitful partnership that has produced this successful and uplifting event. He lists the many qualifications of Hungary as a perfect location for a gathering of international conservatives. Among those qualifications are Hungary’s support of the family, fostering of life, rejection of transgender ideology, and embracing of national sovereignty and identity. For these reasons, CPAC is proud to partner with Hungary, which has so excelled in defending and implementing conservative policies. Schlapp, in his address, expresses this sentiment. He profusely thanks the Hungarian people for being a reliable ally for American conservatives and apologizes for the United States’ failure to be as good an ally in return. Thus, he issues a rallying cry for conservatives in the United States and around the world to rise up out of the shadows and fight like Hungarians have against the elitism and globalism of the Left.
