Former Pennsylvania Senator and father to seven children, Rick Santorum, speaks at CPAC Hungary 2023 on the Left’s assaults on life and the family. Hilary Clinton’s book, It Takes a Village, encapsulates the Left’s agenda to dismantle the family and then to destroy life. Clinton advances in this book that the epidemic of single motherhood can only by solved by complete reliance on government assistance. Essentially, Clinton and fellow liberals perpetuate the lie that parents, single or married, cannot be trusted to raise their children on their own. Instead, children should be made wards of the state, primarily through public schools. Today, Americans are witnessing the superseding of parental authority with the influence of the corrupt and woke education system. The Left’s strategy does not end here, but seeks to stunt life at its earliest stages through abortion. As a Senator, Santorum voted, fought, and spoke fiercely in defense of life. When a vote came to the Senate on abortion allowances in cases of disabilities detected in the child, Santorum delivered a moving speech on the floor of Congress with testimonials of parents and individuals with disabilities of the wonderful lives they were able to live. Though his speech did not change any votes on the legislation, leaving Santorum defeated, it did change the mind of one woman who, until she heard Santorum’s speech, had planned to abort her unborn child. Santorum shared this story with the audience of CPAC Hungary as a reminder that when the battle appears to have been lost, it really may have been won in other ways unbeknownst to you.
