Sen. Chuck Grassley on Liberty and Justice
On this episode of Liberty and Justice, Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley informs Whitaker and the audience of two major bills going through Congress right now as well as his approach to addressing the issues that are most affecting Iowans.
The first bill the pair discusses, NOPEC, a play on the acronym OPEC, would hold OPEC countries accountable for their violations of anti-trust laws. The bill simultaneously brings attention to the bad energy policies of the Biden administration. Grassley highlights that the results of Biden’s outsourcing of energy has taken jobs in the oil drilling and coal mining industry away from Americans and has put the undue burden of higher gas prices on Americans. Energy policy is the primary concern for Grassley’s constituents in Iowa and followed by the issues of inflation and border security.
The problem of inflation is linked to Biden’s bad energy policies that are making the cost of transportation and production of goods all the higher, and in turn driving up the prices of finished goods for the consumer. Grassley notes that Democrats in Congress continue to worsen inflation with unrestrained spending, including $567 billion spent on student debt forgiveness.
Grassley advocates for the simple solution of reduced spending.“My opponent said Congress can’t do anything to fight inflation. Yes, we can! We can quit spending. That’s going help. At least that’s not going to make the job worse for the Federal Reserve that has the major goal and responsibility of keeping inflation under control.”
Grassley cites the insecurity at the border as the third major issue for Iowans. The border crisis has tragically reached Iowa by means of the fentanyl epidemic. Just last year, 200 Iowans died from fentanyl overdose. Human trafficking and terrorists entering the United States is also a safety concern for Iowans and really all Americans attached to the border crisis.
Grassley is also fighting big tech censorship with fellow Republicans in Congress. The big tech censorship bill seeks to reduce the economic discrimination discovered on the part of big tech and social media companies. Grassley comments on the Hunter Biden investigation as well and promises to expose the DOJ and the FBI for their political bias and incompetency.
