Straw Poll Results - CPAC FL 2021
CPAC First Vice Chairman Charlie Gerow, Tom Constantine of The Washington Times, and pollster for President Trump, Jim McLaughlin present the results of the 2021 CPAC Florida straw poll. The poll showed sixty-two percent of participants listing election integrity as the most important issue with constitutional rights and immigration/border wall coming in second and third, respectively. An overwhelming ninety-five percent of respondents said that Republicans should continue the policies of President Donald Trump. Another sixty-eight percent of participants said they would like to see the former Republican president run for office again in 2024. Fifty-five percent responded that they would vote for Trump in the 2024 primary, and twenty-one percent, the second greatest percentage, said they would vote for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in the primary. In a situation without President Trump on the ballot, DeSantis took the lead with forty-three percent and South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem followed with eleven percent. Ninety-seven percent of those polled approved of Donald Trump’s work in the Oval Office, a two point increase from the previous year, and his disapproval rating dropped by the same amount. The straw poll results indicates a shift in influence in the Republican Party that now appears to be dominated by Trump-supporting MAGA Republicans.
