Former U.S. Deputy Special Envoy to Combat Anti-Semitism Ellie Cohanim, from George Mason University Scalia Law School Eugene Kontorovich, and former Special Assistant to the U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Milstein sit on a panel moderated by Yitz Tendler of the American Conservative Union at CPAC Texas 2021 to discuss Israel and anti-Semitism in the United States. The Jewish community was uplifted by President Trump’s pro-Israel attitude while the Democrat Party abandoned Jewish Americans to be beaten by Palestinian supporters in the streets of American cities. Anti-Semites never explicitly declare their hatred for Jews, but their prejudice will be more outwardly expressed toward a part of Jewish culture. Nowadays, anti-Semitism takes the form of anti-Israel and pro-Palestine attitudes. Supporting Israel over Palestine is not just a show of support for the Jewish community but also within American national security interests. Israel is a powerful, loyal, and well-placed friend for the United States in the Middle East. Backing Israel sends a supportive message to Jewish Americans as well who are facing a surge in violent attacks on American streets. The panelists encourage Americans to express their support for Israel and Jewish Americans to their elected officials and hold their representatives accountable for the anti-Semitism in Congress.
