The Invasion Mercedes Schlapp, Tom Homan, AG Sean Reyes, and Julio Rosas - CPAC FL 2022
Mercedes Schlapp hosts a panel at CPAC Florida 2022 with Former Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Tom Homan, Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes, Julio Rosas of Townhall.com, and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton. The panel discusses the various issues burdening the southern border and the Biden administration’s response, or lack thereof, to those issues.
The open border is bringing gangs, international crime organizations, and drugs into the United States. Now, American citizens are subjected to violence in their towns and cities; women are being raped by criminals; younger and more groups of people are falling prey to drug addictions, and women and children are being sex trafficked. Reportedly, $100 million worth of people are being trafficked across the border for sex, forced labor, organ harvesting, and illegal adoption every single week. Border patrol is routinely finding abandoned infants and children and the bodies of victims of the dangerous journey along the border. The offenses occurring because of the open border feel almost insurmountable, but with sensible measures, these atrocities can be curbed.
Unfortunately, the policies of President Biden and Secretary Mayorkas are not the sensible measures we need. The current administration has abandoned border patrol to pick up the lives of victims of trafficking alone and apprehend illegal immigrants without the force of the administration behind them. Still, the Democrats accuse the Trump administration of encouraging cruelty against illegal immigrants at the border while the worst offenses go on under Biden and the Democrats’ watch.
In fact, Tom Homan proclaims that “President Trump saved lives by securing the border.” The Biden administration cannot even visit border or simply acknowledge the crises sweeping the country as a result of the unsecured border. Paxton, who has visited the border countless times and is working on the issue on the ground echoes Homan’s statement, “President Trump did more to stop illegal immigration and save lives.” The startling results of an unregulated border are building an increasingly convincing argument for securing our southern border.
