The Role of Congress: Post-Roe
On this panel at CPAC Texas 2022 in Dallas, Abraham Enriquez, Penny Nance, and Minnesota Representative Michelle Fischbach discuss the issue of abortion. The pro-life movement celebrated a victory in a fifty-year battle with the Dobbs v. Jackson decision that overturned Roe v. Wade on June 24.
Though the Supreme Court’s most recent decision is a major win for pro-life advocates, the real victory lies in changing the hearts and minds of individuals. The battle continues on, too, through efforts to aid and assist women and children in crisis pregnancy situations.
“We can’t lose sight of that because there are still women out there in crisis who need our help, and pro-lifers for fifty years have been wrapping those in women in love, saving those babies. We need to continue to do that,” Fischbach encourages.
Contrary to the lies propagated by the Left, outlawing abortion does not outlaw medical care for ectopic pregnancies and miscarriages. In fact, conservatives look to treat these situations and crisis pregnancy situations with the greatest compassion by caring for both mother and child and allowing for the mother to choose life over abortion. The Left has demonstrated the greatest intolerance on this issue with their attacks on centers that provide practical care and love for pregnant mothers in difficult circumstances.
Nance also encourages conservatives to unite through advocacy and through the power of the purse in order to affect change in our country. “You are so powerful. Do you understand how much power you have in our nation?…When are we going to learn that when we are together, we stand together and vote with our wallet, and support the people who support us, we win?,” she queries.
