The World is Watching: Jay Aeba - CPAC TX
Chairman of CPAC Japan, Jay Aeba addresses the CPAC Texas 2022 audience about the state of politics in Japan. He expresses his gratitude to President Trump and the United States for their support after the assassination of the former prime minister. The tragic event has prompted a rise in the conservative movement in Japan. It especially energized the young people to be active in national politics.
Aeba explains that Japan is facing similar problems that the United States is with violent protest movements, and big tech censoring. Japan is embarking on a major project, called the metaverse, to fight censorship. The metaverse would allow freer expression of thought and has already been the last outlet of free speech for Hong Kong.
Aeba assures that Japan will be a reliable and healthy ally to the United States, “Going forward, Japan will stand strong. It will be more self-reliant, and it will be the best friend the United States has ever had. That’s a promise.”
