Former Notre Dame head football coach Lou Holtz joins Matt Schlapp at CPAC Florida 2022 for a conversation on the American Dream and the future of the country. Holtz is very familiar with the American Dream. He was born into poverty during the Great Depression in a family on food stamps, but he still believes he was born privileged for simply being born in the United States. Holtz preaches accountability, which he sees is lacking in recent culture and generations. He believes that self-responsibility is an integral aspect of success. Humility, as well, recognizing the value of others and practicing teamwork, is central to success. Holtz also drills in the importance of perseverance and overcoming adversity in achieving the American Dream. Holtz attributes these values to the success of his football teams, and his experience as a head football coach contributed to his conviction of the importance of these values.
